Funding for our pastured animals!
We found out in early March that our farm has been awarded a grant through the national non-profit, FACT: Food Animal Concerns Trust.
This grant gives us the opportunity to purchase pasture irrigation sprinklers, moveable fencing for a small flock of sheep, and the materials to build chicken tractors so that we can move the chickens through the pasture while being protected from predators like eagles, fox, and skunk. Over 650 applicants across the country applied for this grant, and only 85 awards were given.
As soon as the pasture snow melts, we are going to get started with our projects funded by this grant. Can't wait to update our donors on the exciting progress we make this summer.
